What is Waqf?
Islamic Endowment
Dar al-Zahra's WAQF initiative is an Islamic endowment to a religious organisation or charity. The project will allow continuous investment and income generation to alleviate the need for regular donations. The endowment will also allow investment in other projects that create continuous income.
Rationale
Dar al-Zahra current relies solely on donations and funding. Although the communities are very supportive, we aim to become independently sustainable. This will allow us to become better together as any projects that are invested in will become sadaqah jariyah for life of the project to our donors.
The Initiative
The Waqf Initiative is seeking to secure funds for its second phase. We are looking for individuals that can donate a minimum of £1000. Choose to pledge over the year; give monthly or make a one-off donation. Donations will close on the 15th Sha'ban (1445).
